LOS ANGELES, June 4 (Xinhua) -- Argentine forward Lucas Di Yorio scored a first-half goal as Leon secured their first CONCACAF Champions League title on Sunday with a 1-0 away win over Los Angeles FC.

Di Yorio latched onto Ivan Moreno's cross from the left flank with a first-time volley that rolled into the back of the net after slipping through the gloves of goalkeeper John McCarthy.

It was enough to hand Leon a 3-1 win on aggregate after the Mexican club prevailed 2-1 in the first leg.

"This is a very difficult team to beat," Leon manager Nicolas Larcamon said. "But we worked very well together in a tough situation, and we had a good plan."

Los Angeles boss Steve Cherundolo described the final as a learning experience for his players, vowing they would come back stronger next season.

"If you look at the 180 minutes played, they deserved to win," he said. "But I don't think this will knock us down. We're obviously disappointed, and it hurts, as it should.

"But we now know where the level is, where we need to get to, and we'll do everything in our power to get there and to come back stronger and to win this event if we're able to play in it next season, next year."
