5.3-magnitude quake hits 70 km SSW of Chirilagua, El Salvador -- USGS

BEIJING, March 5 (Xinhua) -- An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.3 jolted 70 km SSW of Chirilagua, El Salvador at 1856 GMT on Wednesday, the U.S. Geological Survey said.

The epicenter, with a depth of 51.7 km, was initially determined to be at 12.61 degrees north latitude and 88.34 degrees west longitude.
